HI All, All RockOla phonographs, having computers, suffer from "leaky batteries" ! I would advise anyone who owns one of these ( including some CD models) to open up the computer, remove the Ni-Cad battery--add wires to mount a new battery OUTSIDE, and away from the computer--change it at least once every 5 years !! While at this--CLEAN the edge connectors on the computer ! Ron Rich

When talking about Rowe you might as well add: refloat the connector pins solder. I hated removing those connectors on machines I bought used. They had always been monkey armed with intermittent pins.

Do we need to include a diode to keep the board from trying to charge the battery?

Hi Karen, I am of the opinion that you should use a Ni Cad and re-charge it ? Ron Rich
