I'm still working on my NSM Firebird (ES-IV).
I'm trying to find out why I have no audio (the CD spins up, and tracks)
I removed the CD Unit, and noticed the heat marks on the back of the board, it is where the TCA0372DP chip is.
What would cause this chip to overheat? I'm not familiar with op amps etc, is there an easy way to test it? Could this be causing lack of audio?
Board number 312211850730.
Thanks

Alan, Anything on that board could, be bad-- That area is always blackened on those boards--but I would guess the laser is shot-- most died long ago ! Ron Rich
