Hi all: So I’m going crazy trying to get the gear rack with mech on top properly seated on base. I just can’t get the pins to align and drop down flat. Something is blocking it but it’s difficult to see underneath. I’ve tried tilting front and back and can’t get it. Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Hi Larry, So--why did you remove that rack ? Do you have a Service manual ? Read the parts section--You probably will need to either remove the clutch assembly, and /or the guide roller and spring assembly. Also, please read our "user introduction" section and add your location and signature, as requested.

Hi Ron, First, I apologize for not following the user introduction guide. I have now corrected my wayward ways. Also I do have the manual, your book and every other book and written material I can find on the 100 series.
The reason I removed the mech from the base (together with gear rack) was to do a thorough cleaning and lube job. Based on a video I purchased from Always Jukin', it appeared to be an easy matter to re-seat the mech on the base. In the video, he just placed it on the base, shifted it slightly and the pins matched up.
However, as I said, that's not happening for me. So far I have removed, cleaned, reinstalled and adjusted the guide roller and spring assembly. Haven't made any adjustments to clutch assembly. I don't know where to go from here. I would be grateful for any assistance. Thanks,

Hi Larry, Your "wayward ways", still continue--Please show your location, as instructed.--thanks. I seldom remove the rack on a 100 select model-- Since you have a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", read the section on the clutch. If my great, but not too long memory serves me, you will need to replace the gear rack, remove the clutch and place the mech carriage onto the base, then replace the clutch. Ron Rich

If I ever get it back on, it'll never come off again. Thanks.
