I'm working on another SC1 wallbox for a friend and have a problem with the program index mechanism. There seems to be two different problems. The fingers are held together so tightly the pages stay in the up position instead of falling down when they're suppose to. The cam is also a different design than the other SC1 I have. This one has only partial cams so each page is only held up by its cam until the cam for the next page engages. That mean effectively only one cam is holding up all the previous pages. The result is that when more than about three pages are in the up position they all tilt forward. Once the pages are tilted the mechanism jams and pages can't be turned down after that. Attached photo shows the problem mechanism on the left and the good one on the right. Is there something I can adjust or is the bad one just a poor design and I need to find a replacement that actually works? Attachments:

Hi Steve, Yep--dual problems-- The first is the glue that holds the numbers onto the page-- you will need to remove both the numbers and the glue, and replace the numbering strips. 2nd problem, is some "yo-yo" did not take advantage of Seeburg's (simple, 3 second, snap-on, cam), update kit. Yes--you will need to replace that whole program holder today, as I doubt you can find a kit ? Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. I found a third problem too. The rod that connects to the knob on the right hand side is worn where it goes through the side plate so the cams are not pressing as far against the fingers as it should. I bolted a small steel plate on the side to act as a secondary bushing and that helps a little.
I don't think the glue holding the page numbers is causing them to stick together. Pretty sure it's because the fingers are held so tightly together. The one that works has about 1/32 inch of play. The bad one has no play at all. I plan to sand one of the fingers to make it slightly thinner and hopefully that will help.
Also thinking if I had some sort of discs with a 1 5/8" OD and a 9/16" hole I could modify the old cam and lengthen the arcs.
I assume the old cams were a problem from the beginning or did they work when they were new?

Hi Steve, I was not in the USA when the SC model came out--I do know I added the kit to many some years later, and also changed MANY sets of numbers (still available today !) Sure--if worn as you describe, it's going to make a difference --I might search for a nylon bushing ?? Ron Rich
