Hi Armand, Not true on the Pickering made, Seeburg "wedges"-- I opened a NOS pack last week--perfect ! I have also seen some "OK" aftermarket needles--from "everybody"-- I THINK, there is only one supplier-- and it's a rather old ( and has been for years) person, who's work is very inconsistent ! MOST of the wedge types have too long a cantilever which "bangs" into the needle brushes, or even worse, the stripper plate, and bends the cantilever. Ron Rich

Hi Armand and all, I don't find this to be true-- even today, if a gen-u-whine, Seeburg/Pickering stylus, the cantilever shaft has not been damaged, is "clean(ed?)", and the needle is good, The "stuff (rubber-silicone ?)" Pickering used, is still good. I have cleaned many thousands of Seeburg stylii, over the years-- my guess is that 80-90 % of what I saw was still good after cleaning ! What does happen to the genuine stylii assembly, is some "person" sets the pressure higher, then spec. (or the first "red" version, of the snap-in tone arm is still being used), the stylli cantilever, becomes impacted (stiff). At that point the shaft may either be broken, or be bent, rendering the whole assembly useless. I have seen "chipped" diamonds, and "whacked off" (missing) needles, but on the majority of those with problems, the cantilever is also defective ! Ron Rich

Just saw a "great one"-- seller wants a very "reasonable price" ( $25.00), for an item, BUT, has a ridiculous shipping price on it ($137.-- ?) -- should ship cross the USA for about $40--- Ron Rich
