I'm stuck... My SC1 seems to cycle correctly now but it's not sending the correct signal to the emulator. Most of the time nothing at all happens but occasionally the emulator's "play" light turns on for a second and makes a slight noise like it's getting ready to play but then the light goes out and there's silence.
I've cleaned the wiper arm/contacts and the relay contacts below. No change. Any suggestions for further trouble shooting?

Okay I got it to make selections now. Seems to help if it's wired correctly... Problem now is that sometimes it gets them right and sometimes not. Back to the drawing board...

Update again... It seems the problem making selections is only when A1-V1 selections are set up for album pricing. All of those selections are incorrect but all the others work fine. When A1-V1 are set for single pricing everything works fine.
Interestingly, when I received the wallbox it had been changed from the default pricing for A1-V1 had been changed from albums to singles. Make me wonder if there it was changed because of problem with selections in the album pricing mode.

After further investigation.... Whenever A1-V1 are set up as albums the songs actually selected are A8-V8. Same thing if A2-A8, A3-A8,... etc. are set up as albums. The all select A8-V8 instead. So if all else fails I can set up A8-V8 as albums and all selections are correct but that means I have to re-arrange the songs and index labels too. Would be really nice to get it working properly with the Albums being A1-A8.
Any suggestions???

Hi Steve, The Seeburg Consolettes as far as I can re-call, know no difference when selecting any "album", or "single", other then the number of credits needed to be accumulated, and the need to be subtracted, for each type of selection. From your use of the word "emulator", I assume you purchased the French made copy of the Datasynceng unit? If so, you are stuck to try to contact the supplier. If you purchased the US made datasynceng.com ( CD Adaptor)unit, contact Mr. Grumpy, he will have THE answer ! Ron Rich

Thanks Ron, The difference in an albums vs. singles are how the leads are connected on the pricing terminal board. The only thing changing the leads is supposed to do is change the pricing, but in my case it's doing something else that screws up the selection. I suspect there's a problem with a relay somewhere. The emulator works fine on my other wallbox so the emulator is not the problem. FWIW... I purchased the French unit not only because it was significantly cheaper but it also has a built in amplifier and uses an SD card instead of an iPod. It just seemed to fit what I was trying to do better.

Sorry not a relay a it's this switch. Seems like a logical culprit from what I can tell.

Steve, I can't see where that switch set makes any difference between album and single ?--check/clean that switch (see our FAQ's section, if you don't know how), -- I have never seen any problems with that switch ! Ron Rich

I cleaned the switch but no change. I think I'll just set A8-V8 as albums and call it a day...

I did some more testing and discovered that the problem wallbox works if I put the pricing unit from my other box in it. So it looks like the pricing unit is where the problem is. I notice both pricing units are model APU 10-56 but the codes are different. The one that works is S424 and the one that doesn't is S443. They both look exactly the same to me. Is the code meaningful and the S443 is the wrong version for an SC1?

Steve, I was in error, on the relay--there IS a relay on the APU-10 ! Does it activate when an album is selected ? That's a "date (produced) code"-- I can't imagine how the pricing unit can cause, or even affect that ? Is this SC set for 50 cents for a FULL (both sides) of an Album, or 25 cents per side ? What happens if you put the "bad" APU in the "good" SC ? Ron Rich

Ron, The relay appears to be working properly. It engages during a album cycle and I checked continuity with it engaged and looked good. It's set up for 25 cents per LP side. I've tried a couple of different settings for pricing set up but no luck. Haven't tried the bad APU in the "good" SC. I'm having a hard time imagining why the APU would be causing the problem too. Was hoping the code meant the bad one was just the incorrect version. Steve

UPDATE: I cleaned the contacts on the APU relay switch and the plate that rotates underneath the two adjustable pins and it's working now. The plate had black streaks where the pins contact it and I think that was the problem. Not sure I understand why but glad to be back in business. :-)
