Hello all. I have a problem with the reversing switch issue on an M100B. Here are the facts, friends (and just the facts): I recently replaced a broken reversing switch. Now when powered up, the mech scans in both directions. On the left end, it reverses without a problem. On the right side, however, after the paddle flips, it still continues its rightward travel (maybe ½ inch) and then stalls. Slightly turning the motor coupling by hand starts it scanning to the left. The following photos show that the paddle assembly is bent a bit to the right. I’m not sure if this is the problem and I hesitate trying to straighten it if not necessary. Multiple unpleasant experiences have taught me how delicate this switch is. Thanks for any assistance.

Since no one has yet nibbled on my bait, I’ll add that I’ve read all the printed material and both Ron and Rob’s prior responses to similar questions. Maybe it’s me, and no offense, but I’m still dazed and confused.

Hi Larry, Yep--paddle is bent slightly--I don't think this will have any bearing other then to force you to change the paddle "flipper" adjustment. My questions are 1. Did you PROPERLY, "clean" and check, the contacts that operate the motor ? 2. Did you look at the "O" contacts to see if they are "clean" and "making" ? (also--is the 1.4 section of the main motor cap good ?) 3. Is the "rubber bumper" in place on the record rack ? 4. Have you (or someone) disconnected the "bomb" (C-2--#86155/74--.1 x 600v) cap connected onto the motor wire terminal strip ? 5.Have you read what I wrote abut adjusting it in our FAQ's, section--"Over-center Switches" ? My issue stemmed from the “bomb” . The arc suppression module in the front split/cracked along the side. It kept blowing the fuse to the mech. Ron is right. I am very fortunate it didn’t explode. I disconnected it and the juke works beautifully now.

Hi Ron, Thanks for the quick feedback. My plan is to work through your suggested problem areas in the order stated. A quick look leads me to suspect the O contact. That's first on the hit list. I don’t know about the rubber bumpers yet since I haven’t gotten that far in the re-assembly.
I’m glad you mentioned the “C-2" bomb. I‘d read about it elsewhere on this board, but wasn’t sure where or what it was. So appreciate the info.
I did read the FAQ on ‘over-center switches’ a few times. I’m a bit confused though. You refer to upside down V shaped stops on each end of the switch. The only upside down V’s I see are in the center of the switch; one behind the other? Are we talking about the same upside down V’s?

Hi Larry, Yes--the ones that restrain the main (center) paddle-- I will edit the FAQ, to clarify that-- Thanks ! Ron Rich
