Hello. All the major components on the M100B are reassembled (other than audio). In multiple tests, the transfer arm lifts exactly 1 slot off to the left of the selection entered (looking at it from the front of box.) Since this misalignment is consistent across the board (A1 to K9), would be the best course be to adjust the clutch gear by 1 tooth? If so, to the left? After that, would I then fine tune alignment (as needed) with the transfer arm, contact block and record rack adjustments?
As to shifting the clutch by 1 tooth, I read the process in Ron’s book. One question: Since the record rack, pin bank and frog are already together, can they remain in place when adjusting the clutch as such?
Thanks for the assistance.

Hi Larry, I am not sure what the problem is here--did you remove the clutch assembly ? Did you remove the rack ? Shifting one tooth will not solve this problem . The relationship of the contact block ("frog") the the record rack is not correct. Does this happen on BOTH sides of the same record ? Ron Rich

I did remove the record rack and the clutch assembly for cleaning and repair. I didn't then know how you feel about removing these parts. Yes, it happens on both sides. I will go back and study the frog and record rack some more. Thanks

Larry, Did you remove the rack and SAU as an assembly, or did you first remove the SAU ? What, exactly, happens if you play "E-5"--where does it detent ? What, exactly, happens when you play "F-5" ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
Yes, rack and pinbank were removed separately. At present E-5 dentents on E-3; F-5 detents on F-3.
I appreciate your help.

I wish you were around the corner. I know you would have this baby running perfectly in 15 mins. Thanks again.

Hi Larry, Well, maybe 20 minutes--But the walk from San Fran to BR, may take a few more minutes---lol-- Got the manual ?? Look at page 2149-- do you have the rack centered on the frame, or is it off to one side ? If mounted way to the left (look at the slide under the hex mounting screws)--can you slide it almost one record space ? If so, or not, look at page 2151-- once the rack and SAU are OK, fine adjustment of the frog as shown, should do the trick. Ron Rich
