Ron,
I am starting to go crazy with this.
I checked the original cap, it is shorted out. I checked my replacement (electrolytic) cap, it is not shorted and reads as it should. I replaced it anyway with a .047, no change the motor continues to run. If I remove the cap altogether,..... the motor continues to run. I am suspecting that a switch (somewhere) is not right, but I cannot find any faults. Gordon..

Gordon, Check that the alignment pin is on the drum switch plug ! Push the very first drum button of the drum switch, place a piece of cardboard between the contacts that had the cap connected to it, and see if it now stops ? Ron Rich

Ron,
Found the problem...and its working wonderfully!!
After replacing the cap it was still running on.
I "removed" the motor from the drum, and manually operated the detent switch.
I found that the motor was stopping when I opened the detent switch points (as it should). This did not happen previously when I checked it.
So, the problems were (a shorted cap) and the drum detent switch was out of alignment with the classification switches.
Thanks for sticking with me on this problem, much appreciated.
Next job will be to get the mech running followed by the selections system.
Regards
Gordon...
