Hi again I bought a couple of partially dismantled SC1 wallbox's a while ago all of the parts that had been removed were in a cardboard box. Two sets of buttons one white with black figures the other set black with white. We're the two choices available as a choice when ordered or is there a earlier and later set? The majority of Sc1's I have seen have the black buttons. Also the wiring diagram in the manual shows 5 sets of contacts on the latch bar switch, one of these wallbox's definitely only has 4 sets of contacts any one know why? I did post these questions last night, but it seems to have disappeared if I am doing something wrong please explain. Cheers Scudie

Well at least the post has not dissapeared this time , which is a bonus! No replies as yet have just looked through the FAQ section just in case that these questions had been answered there. Cheers Scudie

Hi Scudie, It's NOT you--seems "Pro Boards" is having some type of problem--posts are disappearing ?? I did answer that -- the white buttons were the original colored buttons-- "People complained" that they got "dirty" too fast, so Seeburg changed them to black, with white numbers. As for the four vs. five switches--I dono-- guessing it's some type of an "anti-cheat" switch ?? Ron Rich

Thanks Guys I will fit the White buttons to the machine with the lower serial number, do you know what year they changed to black buttons? I am not sure if it has any significance but I have noticed that this particular SC1 the one with four sets of contacts some times stops the wiper arm part way through its revolution, which leaves it in limbo, I think this is problem occurs when the second selection button is pressed but not fully so doesn't latch. This is the sixth SC1 that I have restored and the only one that I have had this problem with. Will have a look at this mysterious orange wire. Cheers Scudie

According to Ron... The white button machines "were made in late 1961/early 1962": jukeboxaddicts.proboards.com/post/5639I did a test on my SC and pushed a second button in just far enough to start the motor but not latch. Mine completed the cycle but selected the wrong song. On one of mine I had to tweak the contact on the switch to make it engage earlier. You might want to tweak yours so it engages a little later (right before it latches) so you don't accidentally start the cycle by pushing a button in just a little.

Thanks for the info Sooner, so your SC1has 5 sets of contacts in the latch bar switch, but wk is disconnected & the wiper returns to either credit position or rest waiting for a credit. Cheers Scudie

Cheers Scudie Yes, all 3 of my SC's latch switches appear to match the schematic and the wiper make a full cycle whether or not the WK contact is connected. Do any of your have the orange WK wire disconnected too?
