Hello newbie here to your board! I just purchased a Rock-ola max 477. In good shape works well, push buttons are a little quirky, but I can live with that. However the two 6 inch speakers do not function in the machine. I took them out and hooked them up to the woofer connections and what do ya know...they play. They are in great shape still. So what’s wrong? Why do they play connected where the woofers are but not where they are supposed to be connected? There is some sort of small circuit board that these wires connect to located between the woofers. Is there a relay or some type of circuit that might not be working?
i would truly appreciate your help anyone. It’s a mystery to me! The sound is pretty damn good even without these speakers, so am really looking forward to the full sound! I love this little jukebox but want to enjoy it to it’s fullest.
Thank you kindly! Randy

Mounted between the two 12" speakers, there should be a crossover assembly consisting of an 8uF non polarised capacitor and a 5 ohm, 5 watt resistor (per channel). I can't tell you exactly how it's wired - although I could guess - because I don't have the diagram (only the manual). I do have the diagram for the Max 481; the 12" and 6" speakers are in parallel with the 8uF in the positive connection (no 5 ohm resistor in the 481). Norman

I picked up a 477 myself not long ago. I was only getting sound out of 1 of the woofers. Turned out that there were lots of cold solder joints in the amplifier. The amplifier is pretty easy to take apart and service if you know how to solder. I would for sure open it up and re-flow all of the connector pins on all of the boards inside. It fixed mine right up and I would bet that it would your also.
