Hello Alll: I have a LPC 1 with a stuck clutch. mech is in the extreme left position. I know i can get to it by removing the record rack but most people say that is a bad idea. Any ideas as to how I can get to the clutch so I ca clean it up? Thanks in advance Norman

What's "stuck" mean ? Does this have the mech cover in place, or not ? Is the motor turning, and if so, in which direction is the TT spinning ? Ron Rich

Norman, as Ron asked; is the motor turning? If so, check the position of the manual trip lever. If it is up --press it down-- and see if the mech starts to scan. This problem can happen if the 4.7k resistor in the mech opens up and allows the readout pulse to trip the mech when going from right to left.
Above all else: Oil-Oil-Oil!
What schematics do you have?

Mech is turning Counter clockwise as looking from left side of machine machine is at a friends house wont be able to see it till Fridak trip lever is DOWN if i lift it up it tries to play a record. pulse amps disconnected trying to get mech to scan first. as to schematics have the lpc1 manual and the lpc 480 manual which came with a troubleshooting guide. have the Ron Rich Seeburg mech guide and the Tony Miller console era machine guide.

OK--if the TT is going in a CCW direction, the "clutch" is doing exactly what it should do! Easiest way to free it is to fashion a coat hangar into a hook, and CAREFULLY (with the power off) fish the reversing switch to the RH position--- OR, with the power off, turn the motor coupler by hand sot the TT spins in the CW direction. Then READ the Mechanism guide, along with the schematics, and figure out what caused this mal-function--
