I have a concerto 434 and sound was good until It was delivered . Everything operated good except for when playing there is a hum and sound low and distorted. Some one told me that it may have been a wire to the needle that has come loose. I rubbed my finger gently over the stylus and it sounded better for a few seconds then started to sound distorted and broken up again. I know nothing about these just to push play. I have no service guy in my area, about 100 miles away. I am in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia Canada not a common item for repair in my area. Any advise , I would like to enjoy the full potential of the unit and show it off but not like this.

Hi Kevin, Go to our FAQ's section and find a supplier listed there, and order a new needle-- sounds as if it got damaged in transportation ? You may also note the "flippers site for a list of available repair persons in your area -- Ron Rich

Hi krhod,
if it's not the sylus then it could be a loose connection or 'dry' soldered joint in the amplifier, especially if it's beenm moved recently. I've read here that this can be a problem on Rock-Ola jukeboxes.
If so it's a simply fix to re-solder all connections, though I've just looked in my own 466 amplifier and decided to leave it until I get a problem...it's a bit daunting!
But if you don't fancy it then any competent electronics, radio, TV repair man could re-soler all of the joint for you.
Regards Peter
