at the end of the record. The manual describes the problem as "Record on flywheel fails to trip off". The song plays through and at the end the tone arm follows the groove all the way to the end but it just stays there. The tonearm doesn't return, the record doesn't return to the rack. It just sits there. I have to push the reject button to get the machine to return the record and move to the next selection. It's on the B-side only, A-side is working fine. It's a Seeburg Q-160 S. I don't see any mention in the troubleshooting section of the installation manual about the A-side working fine and the B-side refusing to trip at the end of a record.
BTW, Happy Easter!
Update: Fixed it. Broken wire at the trip switch. Soldered it back on and all is right with the world!

I find myself suffering through this and other trip issues but with both sides, no selections tripping, etc. I found my R655 resistor to be have not difference in voltage and upon close inspection, I found it to be cracked. Hope a replacement solves my problems. Glad to hear you got it figured out.

Just went thru this today. I have a usc2. Working great. Played a record and the needle juts sat there at the end of the record. Manually rejected. Tried another record. Same thing. Tried to find a trip switch or stop. Got out the manual. It showed a magnet and a sense coil.. Pulled a magnet off the fridge and open the service door in back. There's a clear plastic thingy mounted on the motor frame next to the bottom of the tone arm ,I play a record and wave the fridge magnet at the clear thingy and the record rejects. I notice a dab of glue on a tone arm life and start looking. Sure enough . there's a little square magnet about 3/8 " x 3/8" stuck to the frame. I remove the sensor ( clear plastic - 2 screws) and the piece mounted to the tone arm and glue the magnet back on with some jewelry/ metal hobby glue. Note. The magnet had a groove near one end. I glued it with the grove facing up. Pu the whole thing back together and everything worked . make sure you make where everything was . the sensor is slotted and can be move around , this would screw up where the record rejects if not installed back where it was. And Other posts have warned about messing with this adjustment. Good luck. And if your magnet falls off I hope you find it!!

You got lucky on two counts--1. You found the magnet. 2. You got it on right, and in the correct spot. I usually use "Testors Model Airplane Cement--but the mag MUST mount with North up ! Adjustment, if needed is simple--check your service manual Also--Hint: Do not "over-tighten" the screws holding "that little plastic thingy" ( Trip switch housing--trip switch is glass enclosed !)
