Had occasion to look at an LPC-1 last night and noticed that the top two rows of the title board differed in that they indicated one selection only for the associated record selection (top left corner slot labeled A1 and not A1 B1 for example). This was most likely done for the LP selections I assume. Question I have as i don't know how the LPC works - when you select A1, do both sides of the record in that slot get written in for play? Sorry if it's a silly question, with the labeling on the title board it makes it appear that B1, B2, D1, D2 etc. are not indicated as valid selections. I asked the LPC owner, but he had no clue and there were no title strips or records in his unit to give me a clue. Also, is the pricing of the selections on the top 2 rows fixed as "albums" in this model phonograph?

Hi Tony, Not a "silly question" ! It is however well explained in the I & O manual for that model, and somewhat detailed in my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"--In brief--Yes, if set for albums, any row will play both sides of the record, if either side is selected. All rows on that phono are switchable. Ron Rich

Thanks-I'll look for that later tonight in your mechanism guide, I probably skimmed over anything that I thought didn't apply to my SPS With being able to switch any row, I'll tell him he should be able to use all "singles" in those slots and relabel his board on those two rows if he so chooses.

Hi Tony, See if the factory envelope is still inside that phono--some had the labels for singles inside ( and also the album labels for other rows--along with the I & O manual). Ron Rich
