My Rock-Ola Princess 1493 will not play the odd number “G” selections (G1,G3, G5, G7, & G9). All other selections will play, including all of the even number “G” selections. When an odd number “G” selection is made, the buttons stay depressed and the write-in motor starts running but the selection is never played, The write-in motor will run continually and will not stop until power is removed from the jukebox & it is then re-ergized. If you manually tigger a “G” odd number selection by flipping the appropriate selector assembly selector lever, the record will pick up, play & return to the carriage. I have cleaned all of the push button switches & exercised & cleaned the selector assembly contacts, switches & traces. I also cleaned all of the wiring assembly connectors. Additionally, I looked for cold solder joints & manipulated the wires on the push button assembly while the problem was occurring & I could not find anything intermittent. This same problem occurred about a year ago & the machine started working again on its own. A friend of mine said he thought the problem would be with the push button button switches. I have a service manual & schematics, but from looking at the schematics, I cannot see anything that would be common to & cause this problem with just the odd selections on one letter. I am an electronics technician, but I do not have any experience with electromechanical jukeboxes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,Robert, My GUESS would be the plugs connecting the selector and the pin bank-- I would use some "Deoxit-5" on them, after a fairly good soaking, in a plastic safe-safety solvent -- Ron Rich

I was wondering what everyone thinks about using “Nu-Trol Contact Cleaner” on this Juke Box for cleaning connectors & contacts (MG Chemicals) - Thanks
