Hi all. I am new to this board, so I hope I am following accepted practice. I just picked up a Rowe AMI R-88 which has been converted to play CDs. It is my first Jukebox.
It appears to work, however, it appears to already be programmed for the tracks of CDs that were not included. The main computer board is labeled "CDC-2 31-506-001 ISSUE 1". Many Google searches show one example that was on Ebay a while back, labeled as "HGM/DDA CD Jukebox Main Board".
Is anyone familiar with this setup? Is there a manual available? Especially, what do the buttons on the board do, how do I program it for my music, etc...
Thank you for any help you can offer. I can add pictures if that helps.

Sorry Sir--This appears to me, to be an aftermarket "conversion", that maybe was sold in NY, as I assume that's where you are located ? I have never seen, nor heard of it before-- You may be able to locate the maker, and get info there ?? Ron Rich

I think you may be right, Ron. The scary thing is that it works!
It has 10 pushbuttons, unhelpfully marked SW1-SW10, and a bank of dip switches. Boy, a manual would be helpful. Further investigation tells me that DDA may be Digital Disc Automation, and it looks like they are sold in the UK?
Perhaps someone recognizes this and has the instructions?
Thank you

Hello nybuck,
The original R-89 upwards (these had the smaller CCC) had the option for a Pioneer six player CD changer or two 10 player units. A company in the UK who were the distributor at the time called Mam In Play mounted the CD players under the the mechanism which now was on a shelf.
I see from your description of the main board that HGM/DDA, the HGM would have been Hazel Grove Music from Cheadle Manchester. DDA was also in the UK in Leeds if memory serves me correctly. Sadly both of the companies stopped trading in the 80's and 90's.
The conversion looks to be done in a Heath Robinson manor with regards to the mounting of the main board and the associated wiring.
I think you may have trouble finding anyone these days who may have a working knowledge of the DDA system.

Thank you so much, Alan.
If anyone has any information on the button functions, that's really what I need. I can't find a manual online.
Thanks!
