Dider, Un-plug the "no record cancel" (BLACK) wire on the underside of the tone arm-- measure cancel switch--is it open or closed ? If closed, it's bad, if open, try playing a record with that wire off. Ron Rich

Hi Ron
Thanks for the quick reply.
But Do you meant the black wire in the cartridge of the underside of the tonearm: Black = L, or Black = RG? Or did you meant another black wire?
Measure the cancel swith, is this one of the Cam switches?
Sorry for those questions but

Hi Didier, Nope-- neither of the audio grounds--there is another wire connected with a "spade lug" onto the board that has the "magnetic reed switch". It is the "record missing" switch -- the reed switch is the cance switch -- Ron Rich

hi Ron
I put the read switch a little bit to the right and the record keeps playing now. Many thanks for the help.

On these models the tone arm cut off switch is a reed switch housed in a small glass tube. Maybe this one doesn't work any longer due to any reasons.

Hi Hildegard, There are only 2 reasons, I know of, that a magnetic reed switch fails. 1. "someone pushed on" the glass, causing it to be broken, or, 2. The contacts actually have stuck together (sometimes because the internal blade, itself, broke). As apparently happened in this case, the adjustment could have been changed ("human" error--always !!)? Ron Rich

I am sure you are right, the wrong adjustment must have caused the fault.
