Hate to be a pest with a lot of questions but was wondering if there's supposed to be a piece of glass mounted horizontally below the animation tray above the speaker grill?
I have the fluted diffuser glass between the light and the interior of the box but there's nothing below the tray.
I've never seen a picture of anything like this or found any for sale on eBay or repro, but did read one mention of it somewhere.
There are a couple little brackets that stick out at the top of the speaker board but I don't see how a glass would mount there?
Seems logical you wouldn't want people to be able to stick their hands up in that area so am I missing something?

Thanks Ron, I've never heard of one before so I'm guessing they were the first thing that got broken or thrown out. It never even occurred to me that it should have one until I started trying to figure out how the animation parts go in.
Pretty sure I do have the service manual but I haven't been able to locate it. If I don't find it tonight I'll order one of yours.

Eric, one edge of the glass is painted with a silver stripe of paint, about 1" wide. Not sure if its meant to reflect the animation or block some of the light. Mine was intact when i disassembled my unit. let me see if I can find a picture to send to you. If not, ill find it in my stash of pieces and take one when i get back to town

Eric Heres a few photos for you. The first is the glass, still not cleaned up (i havent gotten to that part of my restoration yet). The other is missing link on how the glass is mounted. Its a second retaining clip and a rubber bushing with a screw going through both. The screw aligns with one of the holes in the bracket you have, the tab in the bracket fits in the other cradle glassRetaining clip

Andy, thank you, this is an enormous help! I wouldn't have know about that stripe for one thing, also, mine has screws in the brackets but no metal clips, it has some bits of deteriorated plastic so I assumed the clips were plastic.
That clip looks like it should be easy to fabricate.
