I have another issue with this Model B, if I plug the Octal plug into the Credit/Cancel unit it goes nuts, the solenoid keeps cycling and rotating the credit switch.
If I unplug the octal I can make selections by manually moving the pins on the pin bank and it'll play normally and shut off when all the selections are done.
Everything has been recapped on this Juke with the exception of the motor run capacitor, it used to work fine but it sat for a few years (in my living room) and started acting up after I started it up again recently.
I have no idea where to start with this, maybe a problem in the keyboard?

Hi Eric, You have a frozen "ratchet" in the CCU--or a non-making "Z"contact on the Timing Relay. Remove the CCU from the WSR. Operate the cancel coil by hand, while observing the rotating credit wheel. You will note the credit wheel is going in both directions. This is NOT what's supposed to happen if the lock pawls(ratchets) are operational. Usually just oiling the shaft (20 wt., ND) will take care of this problem--but you will need to take your time as it will take a while for the oil to penetrate into that shaft-- Also drop some oil into the main shaft of the credit wheel and the small pawl that holds the credit wheel. Worst case , after screwing with it for an hour or so--dis-assemble clean, re-assemble with new oil---Ron Rich

Hi Ron, thank you much for the reply. The CCU was cleaned and lubed previously and looked to be operating properly, contacts were working and so on.
Since I posted I took out the keyboard and washed all the contacts with Deoxit, including those flip switches at the end.
I replaced the rotted grommets on the counter bracket while I had it apart. I also took the plugs apart to make sure nothing was shorted, they looked fine. Put it back together and now it's working great! Not sure if cleaning it fixed it or if moving the wires around had something to do with it. I installed the free play adapter I just got and that's working correctly also.

Hi Eric, Then I would need to assume the Z contact had dirt in it ! If not,let it sit a few days and try it again-- Ron Rich

Will do, the timing relay is one thing I couldn't really see without removing the CCU. If it gives me any more trouble I'll take it off and clean it all thoroughly. I did that 28 years ago so it's probably due again.
