A few years ago purchased a nice looking Rock-Ola 1478 for almost nothing. It was partially disassembled but appeared to be all there. Did all the usual and put everything back but had a difficult time adjusting those pesky Cam Switches. Got it done and it has worked fine for years. I really had (still have) a difficult time understanding the manual on the Cam Adjustment. I tried to make only minute switch adjustments and it has worked great ever since. No attempt to adjust the Cam itself. Today the wife was merrily playing it and it stopped in the middle of a melody. I think that I never really had those cam switches quite right. Today after reading the procedure I am stuck on "Cam Adjustment" first step. I'd like to check that cam adjustment. There are 3 micro-switches operated by that cam. The cam is secured in place by two Allen set screws. That being a mechanical device operating the micro-switches I am hesitant to fool with that adjustment. it seems the factory setting would be unlikely to change much.
The cam adjustment procedure, which I hope not to mess with, states as part of that procedure: "Rotate the knurled end of the grip motor clockwise, until the two stop pins (Fig. 6) meet. OK, I've been through the manual, pictures and all but I can't find the "stop pins". Does anyone know where they are and what the heck they look like? I would like to see how close to proper adjustment the Cam actually is.
The microswitch themselves have some adjustment. I will concentrate on that instead of the cam itself. Just curious about those Stop Pins that I cannot find!
Thanks Everyone!
