the needle touches the record. Started doing it yesterday, played a A-side fine then the next a-side, it put it back as soon as the needle touched the record. Was still able to play a few B-sides but now it's doing it on the B-side as well. 1 in every 20 times it'll play an A-side, it'll play the B-side about half the time. I noticed it sounding a little scratchy the day before so I put on the needles and tonearm springs I ordered from Stamman, I don't see how that could have caused this problem but thought I'd mention it. I haven't had a chance to dig into the manuals yet or take a look other than to pull the mech cover off to see if it was something obvious, I'm keeping a 4 year old and a 9 month old today. It'll be this evening or tomorrow before I can start working on it. Anyone have any ideas on where to start, what to check? Any ideas why it's doing what it's doing and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jake, That problem can occur on any Seeburg--Do you have a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide" ? If so, read both the electrical and mechanical sequence of operation. You will need to determine if it's an electrical, or mechanical problem (hint--if you hear the pop meter "click" twice on a record--it's mechanical !) If mechanical, it's due to problem in the clutch area, caused by a lack of PROPER oil-- If electrical, it can be anything from a bad 12AX-7 , or 2050 tube, or problems in the TSU- Have fun ! Ron Rich

Ron Rich I've got the manuals. Figured it out, the trip lever is a little gummed up. Thanks for the advice!
