If anyone can give some advice. I have a 1947 1015 that was an older restoration. When I select 1 the tray swings out and actually hits the cartridge and needle on the tonearm. The record does not lift out enough as it rubs on the tray holder in play mode. (It appears it could be lifted up higher in play mode). So I have two problems to solve here. I’m not sure if I can attach a video here but will try. Many thanks in advance for any help Joe.
I tried to load video but was unable to do so. I would be happy to email anyone directly if they want pics or video of the problem in action. Thanks again!

Hi Rob. I do t think this is a lubrication issue. Something is not lined up correctly. I remember a few years ago there were some bent trays so I disassembled the stacker and straightened out the trays. I thought I was careful to reassemble it all correctly. This started occurring after that. By sight it all appears correct as it sits right now. If I had to guess the solution the tone arm should be sitting higher and the turntable should be rising higher to the top to correct this. Is there any webpages or internet reference that you are aware of that could address this issue? Thanks again

axe, Before any adjustments, be sure the top most record ring/tray is returning properly into the comb at the rest position. Sometimes, you can bend the tray the upwards, or downwards, so the tray will fully return without striking the teeth of the comb. This alignment must be checked with a record and record disc in the tray. Then move on to the next issue. Likely there are two issues. First, the tone-arm needs adjusting. As the top-most tray comes out, it must pass under the needle by a small amount, 1/32 to 1/16". That is adjusted by the screw that is near the center, and under, the tone-arm. Loosen the nut, adjust the screw upward a little, tighten the nut. Swing the top most tray over to play position by hand (with record and disc in the tray), and observe if there is proper clearance. If not, repeat the procedure until there is. This adjustment is covered in more detail in the service manual on page 26. Second, the turntable may not be rising all the way up, or up far enough to lift the tone-arm suffiently to clear the tone-arm stop. That adjustment is under the mechanism, near the pivot point of the linkage that raises the turntable shaft. Assuming that the cam roller which rides the cam is stopping at the correct position on the cam, adjust the eccentric nut that is at the bottom of the linkage. Be sure to loosen the Allen head set screw and the nut before make this adjustment. The adjustment is made best after selecting #1, and after the mechanism has cycled to the play position, and after you have disconnected main power from the machine. As you rotate the copper colored hex head of the adjusting screw, you will note that action moves the turntable up or down. Adjust it to the point where the turntable height raises the tone-arm off of its stop. See page 28 of the service manual for further details. There are other things that can cause the turntable raised height to be insufficient. The above are the most common and easiest to perform corrections. Cheers, Russie

Ron. Thanks for your help. I’ll try Russies suggestion and see if I can make some progress. I got a feeling he hit it in the head with the turntable height adjustment. I actually used to have a device manual for this June and it got lost in a move years ago. I will most certainly be getting a new one! Thanks again for all the help so far. Joe

Hi Joe, If this is an "adjustment" that changed "all by itself", I would hesitate , to re-adjust it until after using the proper oil --all over ANYTHING that "moves". Ron Rich

I had the same problem when I rebuilt my 1100.
Startgroove has the answer. Follow what he has said and it should fix the problem It's a pretty easy fix.
