Hi. Just come across this thread. I fitted a new brush cable to my 2200 a couple of months ago during the re-build. If you haven't fitted it yet, please leave a message and I will give a breakdown how I achieved it without removing any surround. Russ Hurt

Hi, Russ
Sorry for my delay, but yes, I would like to know how you did it.

Hi All, I don't know how others do it, but I have done it on several different WurliTzer models with no problem. I do not purchase a new cable ! I use heavy gauge Nylon fishing line. I just open the upper rear door, attache it with the pre made loop to the brush, then feed it onto the rollers, posts and whatever, as needed. I sometimes attach the new to the old and just pull it thru-- then tie it off on the bottom actuator with a fisherman's knot. I would guess that I have caught more WurliTzer needle brush assemblies, with that fishing line, then I have fish ! Ron Rich
Just remembered-- I set the adjustable pulley at it's lowest point prior to, attaching and tying, the line to the bottom actuator-- then I can, if needed, remove any excess "slack'-- using the adjustment.

Thank you Ron Rich. Just about to do this and just happen to have some fishing line in the ole tackle box.

You are welcome-- You make it sound as if some people don't have either the tackle box, or fishing line ?? Good luck ! Ron Rich
