Wurlitzer 3100 troubleshooting help

Hey guys and gals. Need a little help. Just got a very nice Americana that works fairly well. I have noticed on some selections, not all, that the clamp shaft that holds the record in place doesn't go all the way in.

watching from behind it seems on the records that it doesn't hold , seems to be magnetized, holding the shaft  back it its retracted position.

I have the service guide with all the pics and everything, but it doesn't really give hints or tips on how to actually correct things.

I'm sorry to see no one was able to help you out. I'm not that familiar with Wurlitzer and I was looking into a Americana 3100 that is for sale. Anyway I hope you got it figured out.

I wonder if you have an Americana that plays 200 selections or 100, the ones that play 200 have a different style guide tip, the springs on it are prone to breaking which on occasion prevents the record from being picked up. Here is a post about correcting that behavior.

Tom was that 3100 you were looking at in Lizton? I may have purchased it, it should be nice when I am done with it, but it has a ways to go yet.
