NOTE -- this is in response to a question about a model M 100 B, but other then model numbers, it pretty much is the same for all, Seeburg "100 select" SAU models . Newer models have different "operating systems"--one should have some understanding of the system, in order to make an "informed decision".
FIRST TWO things to l@ k at are, THE MODEL NUMBER !!-- Then, ALL of the fuses--Be sure all are the correct size and type ! Next--- keys-- are all service doors equipped with working locks keyed to the model ( M100B used a #G219 key). I would also check the cashbox lock/door bag. Open rear door--safety chain still there--attached ? Look at the installed components for CORRECT (or at least correctly, interchangeable), components ! Look at the amplifier--should be a MRA-1 in that model--Look at the WSR-- Should be a WSR-5. Look at the CCU (Pricing Unit) -- Is the phono "set for free play", or coin play ? IF, "free play" HOW, was this accomplished !! ? ONLY SAFE way is an electronic add onto the CCU--Plug on top, or ramp bent, is NOT safe ! Open top --carefully set it back on cabinet top-- rubber bumpers still there ? Remove mechanism cover-- is the "bomb" still connected (see sticky) ? Which cartridge is installed ( see sticky) ? Turn motor coupler with your finger, while carefully looking at plastic (or fiber) wheel for "bad spots", and check turntable (rubber) drive bushings. Check that the seller, or you, know how to-- properly-- transport it ! (see FAQ's !) Cosmetics-- Find the note on the late Tony Millers web site in our FAQs section-- look at his site for a drawing of the B--NOTE-All "flyers" were either drawn or photo'ed, PRIOR to the release of each model--so expect slight differences.
If you decide to purchase the machine, purchase, the Service Manual PACKAGE, too (see FAQ's)(or, better yet--can seller supply it, prior to purchase ?)--and you might consider one of my Seeburg Mechanism Guides ( contact me at : ronnnrich@yahoo.com, to purchase it).
