Sorting out this jukebox. I have been cleaning everything and having success. I got the magazine lock switch to work and it will rotate but only when I manual move in the lower clamp of record arm, thus disengaging the safety switch.
I have not cleaned any part if the cam and gear assembly except the switch. I can see the cam lob is clearly short of the position which would move the arm clamp to the opened position.
I am hesitant to adjust anything, because so far, cleaning has addressed every problem. Also if I am to believe the previous owner, everything was working 2 years ago. From other posts, it sounds like things don't get out of adjustment just by sitting.
Is this an area that needs to be disassembled to properly clean it? Will I make a problem worse if I follow the service manual to adjust the position of the cam lobe first?

Hi Mike, My first GUESS, is the switch, itself, is defective-- check it as per our FAQ's section, before adjusting anything ! As you correctly stated (IMHO) "--things don't get out of adjustment--". Ron Rich

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. I will definitely check that switch. I got lucky on the first 2 they were just dirty and work very well now.

Just a follow up for anyone else who might run into this. As I went through the SM I reached the adjustment of the solenoid brake. The cork pad was not touching the wheel. It was very smooth, I dressed the cork and properly adjusted the solenoid. This being my last issue, now my jukebox is running.
