What is the best approach to making my Princess Deluxe model 435 a free play.
Thanks Tim J

Hi Tim, My method is to remove one screw from the bottom of the subtract relay, in the pricing unit--loosen the second one slightly, twist the whole relay so the armature striker can not hit the credit wheel, tighten the one screw, save the other screw, add credits, and I'm done-- about 20-30 seconds of easily reversible, work ! NOTE: IF, the setting of the credit wheel (on "free play") causes the latch bar solenoid to be energized, you must dis-connect it, to prevent a fire-- Ron Rich

Does this method work on the princess 424? I’m not finding a subtract relay in the manual.

JT, Do you have a mechanical credit wheel in that pricing unit--if so, how does it "subtract" the credit ? Ron Rich

So after further investigation, I was able to disconnect the credit relay, which basically keeps the button solenoid energized. Is there a preferred work around for this? Or did I do it all wrong . I’m guessing that solenoid should not be energized during power on operations.

No idea as to what you have done-- shoot a photo of your pricing/credit unit. Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. I did save. My only concern is the button hold down relay (solenoid) being energized all the time. It occasionally will vibrate/buzz and figured continuously having power to it would cause premature failure. Thoughts?

You didn't have to remove that reset pawl, you could have just pulled it back slightly against the spring and held it there with a small cable tie or similar - that way nothing gets lost. Norman.

Thanks Norman. I may reinstall and zip tie as you mentioned. Appreciate the feedback.
