My AMI D40 has been converted to one play per dime. I'm changing it back to one play per nickel, two per dime, five per quarter. This is a simple wiring change. The problem is my coin mech. rejects all nickels. Was there a standard way to modify these to reject nickels? Thanks.

How about posting pictures of the front and back of your particular coin acceptor. There are several ways operators can make it reject a certain denomination.

Can I do this without photobucket? I thought I'd chime in because I was having the same problem. If you're on your phone app, hit below where it says desktop. Hit that and you'll get out of the app. Now hit reply, not quick reply then you'll have options at the top where it says add attachment you will most likely have to reduce the size of the photo first.

That's the common NRi unit of the day--Pull the bottom plate off it (one nut--one screw) and watch the nickel travel down to the nickel section. I have seen various "jury rigs" here--most common is the upper toggle ("barrier stud") the nickel hits, in that section, is "wired-stuck". Also have seen the nickel anvil loosened. Ron Rich

Got it. Not sure what the circled spring was for, but removing it fixed my problem. Thanks for the help!
