I have a 3760 Wurlitzer and the recommended stylus pressure is between 5-7 grams. I had an inadequate scale and ended having it set at 4.5 grams. I had no mistracking at this pressure but still set it back at 5 grams.
Here is the question, I know mistracking is very bad on vinyl, but so is a heavy needle. Can I go lighter on the stylus or am I just better at leaving it at spec? I would just like to decrease the wear on the vinyl if possible.
