Just Found One at Musical Fun For Everyone! Thanks Bill
My Rockola gripper motor is bad beyond repair. The commutator is worn down to the base metal on several segments. I have an ad in Parts WTB already on this fine website. I see a couple on Ebay. I wonder how interchangeable these motors are from different models? (just a thought) I know the drive gear has 14 teeth. I have measured the mounting base so that is relatively easy to check. Has anyone swapped these motors around from different models? Thank You All!

Hi David, I have done so in the past--don't know which ones fit what, today however. RO used a few motor manufactures for that motor--Ron Rich

The replacement motor with exact part number (paper tag) of the original motor, had a slightly different mounting base. The "gearbox" had the three mounting holes but different dimensions. The motor was exact but Rockola used that same motor, apparently, with slightly different gearboxes. No problem since my original gear box was in very good condition. It took only a short time to clean and lubricate the original gearbox and swap them out on the replacement motor. The Rockola is "Rockin" again. If I ever had a need for a replacement motor I would include the base dimensions in the search or plan on the possibility of needing to swap gearboxes. The part number, on the motor, is applicable only to the motor and not necessarily the base (gearbox).
