Hello, This is my first post on this forum and I'm looking for help. My AMI ROWE MM3 has an erratic behavior when loading discs. Sometimes it stops at the right selection and load the disc, and sometimes doesn't and keeps spinning until stops. I've found some coils with signs of "extreme warming" and I supose that could be the reason, but may be someone can give me more precise information about it. Couple of pics and video attached. Thanks so much for you valuable help. Attachments:

The motor, if that photo was taken when it was NOT running, MUST be properly oiled -- Yes- It's been hot-- probably due to lack of oil ! The other coil in the annunciation unit, looks to have been hot too-- can't tell you why ? See our FAQ's section for discussions about "Lubrication" and how to clean contacts-- Ron Rich

Thank you for your quick reply. Do you think I've to replace the motor? I'll check the FAQ's section

If it runs, and stops ( which is what I suspect does not always happen, due to lack of lubrication)-- --no Ron Rich

The wheel rotates normally and stops too. But it does not stop at the selected position. When it reaches the correct position the mechanism tries to capture the disc but the wheel keeps turning and then stops Do you think it's lubrication only?

Hello Jukerboxer,
Welcome to the group. I can see from your pictures that you have a few issues, the wipers on the search unit has one broken (or worn out) blade. This needs replacing. Your search unit is an early type where the drive motor did not have a thermister wired in circuit with the motor winding's, at some stage it will have kept running and overheated. The annuciator coils have also overheated, these need replacing or disconnecting.
