Hi all: I was trying 2 used OA2 tubes in my AY160. I had recapped it and it was working great. within just a few minutes one of the tubes got extremely hot and went milky. so hot It blistered me when I touched it. now I have a nonworking TSU. I checked the 2 fuses and they are ok. it looks like I have lost heater voltage. I did not have anymore time to check it. sooo the question is where should I look for a solution when I get back to the Juke? all I get now is double scan with no selection. any help as to where to start would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

Mark, what heater voltage have you lost-? I suggest adding a 1/2 amp-slo fuse in series with Pin 7 on the 6X4 socket. Better yet, add fuse along with getting rid of that tube. I use two silicon rects in series (for extra safety) into a resistor of approx 220-330 ohms @5 watts or more. s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-NYC/media/IMG_20160313_080450_0_zpsetzzdxbn.jpg.html?sort=2&o=212s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-NYC/media/IMG_20160424_053259_0_zpscpawctia.jpg.html?sort=2&o=220I've done this mod on all tube Seeburg TSR-TSU that I use commercially since 1986. I've had one failure about 20 years ago when a fairly new filter shorted. The added fuse saved the transformer. I suggest that you find some known-good 0A2's and, if keeping the 6x4 you temporarily add a light bulb of approx 25 watts in series with the mains input on the selection receiver when you first power it up. Remove all lights and separate from the amp so that only the selection unit is powered. Check for DC voltages on the filters that are approximately correct (allowing for a drop due to the bulb). BTW: Have those filters been replaced along with other caps-? Rob-NYC

Hi all: thanks for all the good info. I got back to the Juke and found my problem. I don't see too good anymore and I did not get on my hands and knees low enough to see that I reversed the OA2 and the 6X4. oops. stupid me. so I lost OA2. I put the right tubes in the proper socket and Voile it works. Mark
