Hello everyone. My machine is an NSM E160 Prestige and plays the A side of records fine. However, sometimes it will get to the end of the B side and just sit there in the play off grooves. If I lift the tone arm up I can feel a slight resistance stopping it from moving on. With a small amount of pressure on the tone arm you can make it go through its cycle and it will remove the record and continue as normal. Never happens with the A side, perhaps happens with the B side 50 percent of the time regardless of the record being played. Any ideas would be most appreciated! Best Wishes

Hi Steve, Something like this has to be "mechanical" in nature-- just "L@ k" at the tone arm's path-- suggest you remove a record, play the B side, turn off power and look at it with a flashlight ("torch" to you !)Check the underside-- is the wire getting caught on something ? Have you lubricated the tone arm pivots, lately ? Ron Rich

Thanks Ron it has been lubricated recently but I'll give it another go over and see if it makes a difference.

I have a city 2. I’m not sure if the carriage is the same . But I had a similar problem there is a reed switch with 2 wires attached to it. Beige in color There is a arm attached to the tone arm that is a permanent magnet. Looks like when the tone arm touches the magnet it ejects the record Mine was close but not touching. So there was an adjustment screw on a spring that you can loosen or tighten to rest the position of the permanent magnet position. I adjusted and it worked but on some records it ejected it a. It too early . I’m still trying to get it set right. I’m not sure if the Magnet has to touch the reed switch or just come close enough if that’s the case , then maybe the reed switch is failing on me. I’m not sure myself. But maybe is an adjustment needed somewhere for you .good luck Ron Ricci

Hi Ron Reed switches seldom fail-- magnets should not need to touch anything ! Perhaps Steve's magnet IS touching ?? Ron Rich
