Hi does anyone have a picture/diagram for the top of the stepper unit, showing the locations for the plugs to go in. I have a project where the machine was taken apart by someone else, and nothing was marked up.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Hi Chris, That should be shown in either/both (?) the Service Manual (maybe schematic ?), or Parts catalog-- Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
I have the manual, and it seems pretty comprehensive, but doesn't show the actual layout of the stepper/junction unit.

Hi Chris, Are you speaking of the 4 plugs that come from the keyboard ? If so, they are "numbered" and fit, L-R, 1,2,3, and 4-- Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
You see this is my problem. There are no numbers on the top of the box of the unit, or on any of the cables. So I have 7 or 8 identical sockets, with the same number of plugs, and not a single number on any of them. The previous owner took it apart, and didn't mark the cables, and all of the original labels have gone.

Hi Chris, OK-- you can sort this out-- Note only ONE of the four is different. Look at the place that the keyboard would plug into, if no stepper was used. My great, but sorta forget-full memory, says the "odd ball" is #3. If that's correct the other plug right next to it, is #4. Now all you have is one 'set of two-- a 50 % chance of being right-- just take a guess, if wrong, all that will happen is you will release the wrong pin--should that be the case --swap those two, and all should be good ! Thanks Ron, great information. Just need to know what plugs go into the bottom lot of connectors now.

Hi Chris, I have some pictures of a 2100 that I did last year. Unfortunately the pictures weren't to help me but just to let the owner see what was happening. There's a clear picture of the stepper junction box. They are all in a Dropbox folder - I will PM you the link, see how that helps you? You should be able to work out from the drawings which plug is which, they should be marked though but just with paper labels as you will be able to see in the pictures. Norman.

Hi Norman, You can post that drop-box info here--no problem, as long as you "own it". Please do not post copyrighted items we could get in trouble with here, as we ain't got the money to defend ourselves ! Thanks, Ron Rich

Hi Ron, I'm not sure if I'm totally comfortable posting my Dropbox link publically and quite a lot of the folder content is of little interest anyway. I tried to attach a resized picture of the stepper JB to this post but I am unable to do so because I get a message that the forum has reached its permitted limit on attachments. Norman.
