Greetings,
I cannot get anything to play on my 100 side but my 200 side works normal.
100 side will pull in the wobble plate and start but the selector will keep rotating and not start the play control relay to start the magazine motor.
I notice when I open the door where the play control relay is located neither side will work.
Im kind of baffled at this point so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

HI, I'm baffled too ! Please read the "Hi Newbies" post in the FAQ's section, then the above (red-pinned) stickies in this section. What "door" are you "opening". Are both side pins on the pinbank pulled when selected ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron Thank you,
I read stickies as requested. The door I am opening is the main power supply where the play relay is located. It is the only relay that is not removable from what I can tell.
I will clean the wiper rings "Read-Out arm continuously "searching"-- or not "hammering" the pin" sounds like the issue I am having
I read through the manual I cannot find anything named pinplank but it sounds like it would be the pins on the "read out" carriage? If so both A & B will move as selected but the hammer coil will not work on the A side and the read out carriage will turn continuously and not activate the trip coil. If I am understanding the sequence correctly.

Yes, clean the wiper rings and also check the A-B snap switch. The power supply cover issue, most likely a bad connection I suspect. Norman.

OK, As Norman wrote-- Suspect the plugs on the outside of that "door"--look at them for a "pin pushed in", on either side ! If you have an Analog meter, you might check the contacts on the snap switch prior to "cleaning" them (for cleaning, see our FAQ's section ). Ron Rich

Lol, who needs a warranty!
Okay, so cleaned contacts and no difference. Its looking to me like the solenoid is not activating. On the B side the solenoid click in and out for a moment but on the A side it does not. I am going to look at the manual and see what voltage I should be getting to the rails. So does the pinbank cause the hammer to fire for a moment or does the hammer fire when it stops to reset the pinbank tab?

Okay, I checked the voltage to the b side hammer coil and it fires momentarily after the read out carriage stops.
So my problem is happening before the read out carriage stops on the A side.
I should not expect to see any voltage on the rings (rails) until it stops first.
So to me it seems that something is not telling the read out carriage to stop on the A side to even allow the hammer coil to fire.
The pinbank is activating as it should.

I am getting to sequence 17.7 but never make it to sequence 18 on the A side If I am understanding all of this correctly.
B side will continue through sequence 18 until all sequences are completed.

So far everything is pointing to the wipers.
They control the next sequence If I am reading the manual correctly.
I guess I can try cleaning again and check for a bad solder joint?
What the hell am I missing here...ugh

That, would be my guess--told you to "check it" above ?? Did you read the "Contact" & switch stickies in the FAQ's section ? Ron Rich

I saw the FAQ on cleaning the contacts which I did, but let me go back maybe I missed something?
To be clear you are talking about FAQ on the rockola 400 series correct?

Below are the steps I followed
The 2nd most question asked of me about RockOla's concerns either the Write-In, or Read-Out arm continuously "searching"-- or not "hammering" the pin-- Assuming no burned out coils, I have found the problem to be on the "contact rings", or "fingers(contact blades)" that ride on them. My cure for this is somewhat simple--NO-DO NOT USE SANDPAPER on either the ring, or contact point ! Saturate a cloth, or a paper towel with a plastic safe, "safety solvent". Wipe the rings, softly burnish ( using a tool only), the contact points, then treat the rings and points with Deoxit-5 (once again--use a rag), AS PER Instructions, on the can . NOTE-- I have no affiliation with the above named product--I have not found anything else which works !
