I have a 1960 Impala and was looking at the 1485 which appears to be the same vintage. What is it that makes one more valuable than another? I think I read somewhere that a very small amount of 61 or 62 models were made so to me obviously production would play a role other than that

Hi James, What makes a 1960 Chebby, more "valuable" then a 1960 Ford, or Plymouth ? Who knoze-- just personal taste, would be my guess-- BTW-- where did you read that the production was lower in those two years-- Production figures were VERY "guarded" by all Juke factories-- Phony serial number tags, were known to exist in this industry, for years ! The small amount for 1961/1962 models might refer to Rock-Ola Empress, built in 1962. It is said that especially the 200 selection Empress was produced about 904 times. Rock-Ola Empress with 120 selection could have been built ca. or slightly less than 2000 times. I am not sure if those numbers are really right, Tom DeCillis gives this information on his serial number list.
Models Tempo 2 (1960) and Regis (1961) were produced often.
In general to evaluate today is difficult when models use a same number range. To differ between 120 and 200 selection version is almost not possible.
