Hello, just wondering why this wiring change would have been done? White/blue (add solenoid) is cut from the switches, then jumped to pin 7 (mech scan start) at the dcc. Since acquired, this thing has been on free play with no programmer card inserted. I haven't seen any side effects to this wiring. Maybe I would notice somethings wrong if I get a card and require coins? The reject, mech start and stop work properly. I'm curious about why it would have been done. Also, because I can't leave well enough anyone, I just purchased a DBV2 and vic3 card from fbay. Unfortunately, now I see I need a lot more (probably impossible) to find items to install it. just wanted it for aesthetics really.. it's a 3 pin plug at the dcc, it's 4 pins at the validator. Can anyone tell me the pin out for the validator? Googling 70-423608 the cable part number comes up with nothing. Thanks! Ryan

Hi Ryan, Simply put-- because someone did not know how to keep that selection pass switch clean-- If you look at the schematic, you can see exactly what was done. It was eliminated several years later, as a "cost cutting" savings- On the DBV, I seriously doubt you will get a DBV-2 to operate today. Parts for them have not been available for over 40 years. The cable consisted of the two "plastic plugs" ( one a Molex, and the other an A-MP brand) and the wire-- not too much of a problem to build, should you wish to ?? Ron Rich
