When I make a selection, read out cartridge scans , and stops , pops, then stops at the right record number, the current limiting light flashes. When i push record selection numbers, the third selection button locks in properly. I wired the magazine motor direct and it rotates freely. All micro switch have been tested. all connections and fuses are good. I have tried adjusting wobble plate switch. I examined the control box but am unsure how to test the coils etc inside the box. This juke box was in working order before it was moved. I have triple checked all connections. I replaced on coil on the read out carriage. When i use the scan switch, the magazine does not rotate, but the turntable turns. ( why would the turntable spin on when i put it in the scan position? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have a service manual, and the schematic ? If so, Please use the terms in the manual so we can understand where your problem lies---If not go to the FAQ's and order them--be SURE whomever you order from supplies the schematic as part of the package ! Ron Rich

OK--letz try this--Starting from power on--credit established, what exactly, happens when you attempt to make a selection--Look at the manual, if it contains a sequence of operation, explain what it should, but does not do--when.Ron Rich

thanks Ron, "after completion of a selection, the latch switch closes and operates the Write-in relay, this starts the AC search motor, which rotates carriage wiper around the selector segments and contact looking for a live selection circuit. (it does this) when the "live contact and segment is located the stop real operates, applying DC voltage lamp causing the AC motor to brake. ( it does this) And then it stops, nothing happens. Page 11 Ron, thanks for you patience, I really appreciate your guidance

OK-- watch, or put your hand on the wobble plate coil and make a selection--do you feel any pulse there when the WI carriage stops ? Then tell be what happens,if anything, ( service switch in OPER position), if you toggle a selection rocker pin by hand ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron, when i put my hand on the wobble plate coil , i do feel a pulse, i did a slow motion video and the wobble plate solenoid does move, ( but not very much, maybe a 1/8 of a inch. i tested ohms on solenoid coil and it is 27, and i took solenoid switch of and it checks out. now with the service switch on oper and i toggle a rocker pin, it pops the circuit after the turntable spins a few revolutions.

i noticed the solenoid coil has some slop in it, i can move it back and forth in the bracket, is that normal?

Yes--it is somewhat adjustable--info in Service manual-- If the CB is popping it is indicates the pulse is lasting too long--if you re-set it several times you will burn that, and the hammer coil up--Is the hammer coil being energized ( I would assume so) --? is (100 select model--are they 160 select model) good ? The cb does not pop , the pop was the number 3 button releasing. it is a 100 series. hammer coil is energized. Why does when i go to scan ,the turntable turns and not the magazine? If i turn the gripper motor by hand until the record arm is over the records and push the scan button it will pick up a record and place it on the turntable. My signal seems to be getting lost from the wobble plate switch.

You have me totally confuzzed--above you state the CB does not "pop"--but above that, you state "--it pops, after two or three turns" ? Which CB either pops, or not, after what goes two or three turns ? The wobble plate switch and the outer, read-out, ring are wired in parallel, so that either being closed will operate the scan motor. I do not have the schematic here, but my geat, but not too long memory says it runs the motor thru the lock relay under the mech shelf--did you check this relay for proper aoperation--do you know how to clean/adjust contact points--if so, do so, If not, see the FAQ's above. the pop i was hearing was simply #3 button releasing. I have found a 47 ohm resistor in the play control box that tests bad. will solder a new one in and see if that fitxes it. I have not cleaned points , but i will. also will look at the relay you mentioned. thanks again

The resistor was not bad. ( i misdiagnosed ) according to sequence micro switch 2 is bad, but it test ok with multimeter. Can it test ok and still be bad?

Yes--a Micro Switch can test "good" and be bad--depends on testing method used--see FAQ's, above. Ron Rich
