Hi,
I'm replacing the bubble tubes on a 1015 as part of a restoration, that started as a basket case.
I noticed one of the old tubes I took out (only 2 of the 4 were present) has a plastic p-clamp on it at the end that goes into the heater. The p-clamp isn't something that slid down from the hangers on the top center castings, all that hardware to hang the tubes is there. I'm confused by the "Z" brackets that are near the heaters.
Does anyone have a picture or quick explanation of what the "Z" brackets are for? The only thing I can think of is that they are supposed to push the bubble tubes up against the clear channel in the plastics, and that the p-clip is there to prevent metal to glass contact between the "Z" bracket and bubble tube.
I tried to upload some pictures, but getting an error message that the forum has exceeded it's attachment space?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, The P-Clips are meant to hold the upper part of the bubble tubes, both the bottom set and the upper set in place. They attach to a w shaped bracket at the top of the lower bubble tubes and to a set of short and long metal straps at the tops of the curved tubes. I'm not sure what a Z bracket is, but there is a metal bracket with a clear triangle shaped plastic insert that is designed to hold the front most curved bubble tube against the arch plastic. I would load some pictures but it is too difficult and time consuming a task.
