I recently had a problem with my 1484 and I'd appreciate some guidance from the experts on this forum.
The jukebox has stopped working The symptoms are that after making a record selection the write-in carriage rotates endlessly. I checked the fuses and the 1.6a slow-blow fuse had blown, so I replaced it and it blew again after making a selection. So I changed the fuse again and tested the record magazine rotation by switching the service scan switch to "scan", the magazine rotated then stopped after half a turn, when the fuse blew.
The Rockola instruction manual doesn't have a wiring diagram, just some schematics of the selection process. I really need to know what component the 1.6a fuse is protecting and is probably causing the short.
Has anyone got a wiring diagram or could the problem be mechanical? I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
TIA
Ron

Hi Ron, I would suspect that if the fuse is blowing WI carriage reaches the position of the selected record, the "hammer coil" is shorted ? If it does not stop there, I wold suspect the relay that controls it has a problem-- BTW-- do not keep inserting the same, or larger sized fuses-- more damage is likely that way -- See our "FAQ's section" for a list, of suppliers, for service manuals. Hi Ron
Thanks for the prompt reply and advice!
I'll start by checking the resistance on the WI coils then if they are OK check the WI relay.
I'll report back.
