I have an NSM 'Performer' (wall) and I am looking for a way to turn on and off background music without the remote control. I have found a lot of programming options but I just want to be able to turn the background music on and off after I power up the jukebox.

Hi Jim, When "speaking NSM" one must ALWAYS speak the "ES number". In this case--how about a switch, opening the BG signal, to the amp ? Ron Rich

I am open to any ideas but I would not know where to begin making my own switch. I would love to learn if there happened to be a tutorial or guide. Thanks for trying to help.

Hi Jim, You go down to the "Radio Shack" in the Lawrence village (500 block--Lawrence Ave) square, and purchase a metal, or plastic box, and a switch. Drill three holes in it. Set the switch in the box, run the audio from your background music generator to the switch, and a line out to your NSM from there. Ron Rich --oh, forgot --"Radio Shack" has dis-appeared from most areas--is that one still there ??

I think all RadioShacks are out of business now but there are always a few small places I can look.
Thanks for trying to help.

Hi Jim, I was kidding about Radio Shack being in Lawrence Square-- It WAS there in 1958-- I had a 2nd cousin who lived directly across the street, and I re-call us attempting to "jay-walk" across Lawrence Blvd. He refused to walk to the corner, where they had just added a crosswalk ! We made it--somehow ! Is Lawrence Square still there ?? Ron Rich

I rememer Radio Shack fondly... I don't remember when the last one disappeared but I miss walking around our local one. I think it is called Lawrence Allen Centre now

Hi Jim, Thanks--I was wondering if the square was still there -- An ES-V requires an adapter board kit, for a background music input. Programming inst's. are included in the kit-- I HAD one-- don't know if I sold it or not-- Make me an offer I can't refuse (email me--ronnnrich@yahoo.com), and I'll search for it. Ron Rich
