Wurlitzer 1250 free play adaptor

Hello,

I'm working on a Wurlitzer 1250. It needs a complete restoration and I'm just getting started on it. In reading some other posts I found the credit unit can be problematic. Is there a good way to put one of these machines on free play? I saw an adapter that plugs into the junction box in place of the plug from the credit unit. I'm wondering if any one has used one of these?

IF, it's what I think it is, I would discourage it's use ! Axk the supplier what happens if/when the selection button is held too long, or it "sticks in" (they all do, every once in awhile !) ? The units I've seen, will burn up the selected,coil ! WurliTzer wisely used two relays, in the coin unit to prevent this from happening--musta been a reason, way back then ? Look at the schematic--easy to build a safe FP unit ! Ron Rich
