I just found this forum and it is very interesting.
I just bought a AMI/Rowe R87 Golden 7 and cannot wait to get it looking sharp. It runs great, the outside just needs some refinishing work. The previous owner had hot glued lights around inside frame work of the top door frame. After 5 hours of hard work I have gotten it all off.
Now I need to refinish the frame around the glass and the gold on the doors and the top around selector assembly.
Can anyone help me with what colors both items were originally, or do I need to try and match colors?
One other question what can I use to strip off the old paint? Paint stripper??
