Hi there, my BO/AC 555 unit doesn,t work anymore and probarly a defect in the triac or transistors. But i can,t find wich replacement components a need. Has anyone a scematic layout or an component list wich triac or transistors being used in this control unit? I would love to get the coins working again....
Thank you very much,
Eric

Hi Eric, Check the 5 volt regulator-- they fail often on those--especially if plug, or price card, is removed/inserted with power on ! I have never seen a printed schematic, nor parts list for the BO/AC. I had a co-worker, who once worked for WurliTzer, that had a hand drawing of a parts list, he kept in his pocket-- would seldom show it to anyone ! Check with Hildegard (on our FAQ's suppliers list) in Germany-- IF ANYONE, in the world has it, it would be her ! Ron Rich

Hi Ron,thank you very much for your reply.
I replaced the regulator with a TO-220 PNP.Because i don,t have any specs, it could be an NPN as well....But i,m going to ask Hildegard if he has any idea.
For now thanx again!!
Greet Eric

Hi Eric, Regulators, are neither "PNP", nor, "NPN" ! They ( in those days) were either "Positive", or "Negative". Do you have the old device-- if so, what are the numbers on it, and what are the numbers on the "new" one you used ? Ron Rich

I,m sorry Ron, you are wright. I thought that the difference of a "positive" or "negative" regulator is expressed as PNP or NPN.... I go check the numbers tonight and i,m going to try to measure the 5v output voltage of the old one and the one i placed. Then i can determine of their is any power to the 5V circuit.. Now i,m beginning to understand how the regulator works and what it should do... To be continued..

Hi Ron, I measured the old regulator and it gives 2V+.(thats not good i suppose) The numbers on this regulator are: 7309 EP328 138379 and a logo of texas intruments. The new regulator is a TR-NPN TIP31C TO-220 5V+ fixed. So? ??

The "new Regulator" is NOT a "regulator '--it is a Transistor ! You might want to re-check those numbers on the old regulator-- they make no sense to me ? Ron Rich
