Cleaning brown nicotine stains from chrome

Hi,

I acquired a Rock Ola 436 which has a lot nicotine stains both on plastics and chrome. Would anyone tell me what the best approach is to clean the chrome parts without affecting the finish?

Hi Kevin,
Well, first off, it's not "nicotine" stains-- Nicotine is colorless-- it's a combination of oils and possibly tars. I would use a water based "de-greaser" followed by a commercial, automotive, chrome cleaner/polish. Ron Rich
