One of the letter push buttons does not operate the when the leaf spring contact's are made, has anyone got an idea please

Knowing nothing about this phono-- just a guess-- 1. Are you sure contacts are in fact, making well enough to carry current ? If not sure, see our FAQ's section on contacts. 2. Check plugs-- cold solder/bad crimp ? 3. If "electronic" selection system-bad component (transistor/SCR/Triac) ? Ron Rich

Sorry Ron I called you Rich in my earlier post, appologies
I followed your advice / steps and found that the wire in one of the leaf spring switches had snapped off
Resoldered and now works fine
