Hi all,
I’m looking for a replacement volume control potentiometer for a Rock-Ola Sybaris 474 jukebox. The sound is scratchy when adjusting the volume and the sound also drops off when increasing or decreasing the volume.
I have some of the service manual for this model but it doesn’t seem to list the value of this pot for the volume control. I’ve pulled the potentiometer out and the stamping on it says 46283 and 235707. I am a bit rusty on the electronics side of things but am presuming it would be described as a double gang potentiometer of 46k/235k. Would that be correct?
Does anyone have a source for this part? It seems to be a specialist item and our local electronics store doesn’t seem to stock it.
Many thanks
Darryl Lennane

The value of both pots would be the same, one is for right channel and one is for left. I don't have that manual, but you should be able to contact maybe Victory Glass or some other parts vendor for the correct ohmage. Most volume controls on the older units are like that because they probably were in the same location for a long time and the volume was not changed. Most of the time I can spray some electrical cleaner or alcohol inside the pots and turn them a few times and clear the problem up. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, PLEASE read our FAQ's section- parts suppliers are listed-- also read the FAQ's for contact cleaning. 99% of the time that pot can be cleaned with a shot or two of "Deoxit-5" (read & follow the directions on the can !). If it's "scratchy" when the audio is muted, that indicates problems in the amplifier, which must be addressed ! Ron Rich
