Hi All,
we got sent a photo showing a door of a Zodiac II. Zodiac is model 3500 by Wurlitzer presented in fall 1970. The front glass colours are baically blue. The door of Zodiac II has same motif but colours are orange and yellow. It was found in an old warehouse with parts jukeboxes in Belgium. But actually this doesn't mean anything.
I looked at all our paper goods and searched a lot, but wasn't successful in finding a word about this model.
Does anybody know more?
Hildegard

Hi Hildegard, I have never seen that glass either--perhaps it was a "local" item ? WurliTzer sold no "Zodiac" models out of their San Francisco Ca. office. They did sell un-named 3500's, in that time frame, but the glass inserted in them was missing the "Zodiac" name on it, as there was a crazy running around the bay area killing young ladies, using the name "Zodiac". He was never caught ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron, Thank you for your answer. Yes, I thought so too first. England and Australia seems to have made some own issues on imported models. So did NOVA here in Germany even in the early 1970s. Belgium did also produce a lot in earlier days, but was one of the major import countries too. Of course that this door was found in Belgium doesn't say anything really. It could have been bought by somebody from elsewhere. Another idea I got was if Zodiac II was a kind of "Selector Speaker" like Satellite II in 1970-72: www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Wurlitzer/WurlitzerSatelitteII.htm#IIBut I did not find anything like that too. What a bad omen for Wurlitzer with this bad story in SF area. So with unnamed 3500 models one could name the jukebox by oneself. I never saw a 3500 without Zodiac name either. But now I will keep my eyes open for it! Hildegard
