I'm trying to remove the selector switch assembly (keyboard) from a 2304. Does anyone know how this can be done without taking the whole cabinet apart? I thought I could just remove the thumbscrews that hold the selector switch casting in place but the ends of that interfere with the cheek castings. In a related question, how is the fluorescent tube under the selector switch replaced?

Hi Magic, I dono--I THINK one needs a Wurl-A-Matic brain to figure that out--I have attempted, and given up--If you find a way, please post it ! Ron Rich

The service manual doesn't even indicate how the lamp is supposed to be replaced. I removed a plate and just barely was able to slide the tube out under the free play switch. There must be a better way.

Like I said--I gave up, mainly 'cause I had no dy-no-mite, with me--but FYI, you can get a T-8 lamp in the same length, and it would be easier to install that--

I have the same issue and need to replace the light just below the selector keys. It seems there is no easy to access the light. Any thoughts?
